Vanity Week the Third
This last October, I participated with some other artists in making a limited-edition tarot deck for charity. How many sold, I have no idea, but I did have fun working on it. I made two cards for it, and here’s the first one – The Hanged Man. It’s hard to find one good definition for the card. Various sources list it as meaning “surrender,” “sacrifice,” “inner harmony” and “letting go,” to name a few. To me, however, it’s always represented indecision, and to some degree a dilemma, so that’s what I drew. Remain dangling and wait for the snake to come get you, or hack the rope with the knife and drop into the crocodile pool? Well, what would you do?

Ooh, I like this!
Anoher one of the “traditional” meanings of the Hanged Man is “a pause or delay, imposed upon you by circumstance, which cannot be avoided; later you will see that it was necessary to the outcome of your situation.”
Personally, I’d use the knife to attack the snake 😉
I’d use the knife to attack the snake, drop its body to the crocs, and while they’re busy make my escape ^_^
And I would so buy that tarot deck, and your drawing is awesome, I love the representation. Tarot card meanings change from person to deck type to even whether the card is facing right side up or down, but your take on it is pretty cool ^_^
I see a Bunny System Tarot deck in the future… It could be a hoot!
